Viscount did a bang-on job with our insulation! The house is lovely and warm now, and saves us money too!

Toni Skipo - Shawclough

Just one month after Viscount Insulation Installed Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation I could see a big difference in my energy bills - Thank you Viscount

Joanne Haworth - Padiham, Lancashire

Viscounts team of Insulation Installers were very polite, professional and left the property spotless.  I noticed the house was warmer the very same evening we should have had this done years ago.  We were also given a full Home Insulation Grant for this work which, we didn't realise we were entitled to until Viscount Insulation pointed it out to us

Mr & Mrs Walton, Preston Lancashire

The Home Insulation team were very polite professional and considerate. Let me explain further .......

My home installation was carried out last December, when if you recall the weather was extremely bad with snow, this obviously caused some inevitable delays however the home installation team kept me fully informed as to what they would do and when ..... weather permitting.

There was no internal mess whatsoever all the equipment was fitted in the loft or garage both accessed from within the house but shoes/boots were removed on all occasions without my insistence.

Mr and Mrs Jackson, Burnley Lancashire

Dear Sirs

Thank you very much for the work you carried out here on Thursday. I have never had any grant work before, so when your representative called some while ago I had no expectation that I would get anything this time. However he explained very clearly what could and could not be done, what little disturbance there would be and that somebody would be in touch to set a date.

The contact was duly made and the date set, the projected time being 1pm. Bang on time your men arrived. They were smart efficient and started work as soon as the plant and materials were on site. They refused any refreshments and carried right through to completion. I found the whole thing most impressive. Thanks again.
Yours Faithfully

I got a Home Insulation Grant

Your lads have just left my premises having installed cavity wall insulation and loft insulation. Just to say I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of both of them, also very polite and courteous. Many thanks. Linda Ibbetson

What is Solar PV and how does it work?

Solar PV refers to photovoltaic (solar) panel systems, which convert daylight into electricity using layers of semi-conducting materials. When exposed to natural daylight the panel produces a direct electrical current (DC), which is converted in to mains compatible alternating electrical current (AC) by an inverter. This AC electricity can then be used to power your household appliances via your existing wiring or be fed back to the National Grid. Contrary to popular belief, Solar PV panels work in winter and on cloudy days, although it is fair to say that the higher the daylight intensity, the greater the yield of electricity they will produce. What are the benefits and costs of PV

How much will a PV system cost?

Each Solar PV system is tailored to your specific requirements, such as energy demands and location, so costs can vary. A full comprehensitive quote will be provided to you at the initial survey.

What is the FiT and how does it work?

The Government has mandated that electricity suppliers must pay you for each unit of solar electricity generated PLUS a further payment for every unit exported to the National Grid. These rates are guaranteed for 25 years and are index linked, so you have security of your income as well as free energy during daylight hours. If you installed a typical 4kWp solar PV system the FiT would generate the following income: £1418.00 per year tax-free from the generation tariff £51.00 per year from the export tariff £170.00 per year from the reduction in current electricity bills £1639.00 Total income per year

How much money will my investment in PV Solar Energy make?

Typically a return of between 7% and 10% can be expected on your investment year-on-year. A financial model will be prepared for you as part of your estimate, giving anticipated figures for your particular property.

How will it affect the value of my property?

The addition of Solar PV panels will obviously enhance the appeal of your property and make it more saleable, though it is almost impossible to attach an actual figure to this. Personal ethics, a desire to have a positive impact on the planet and the opportunity for free electricity all affect the way we each consider the value that a Solar PV system will bring. Is PV suitable for my property? Where should a PV array be sited? Ideally a PV panel system should be sited on a south facing roof or ground mounted support system at a 30°to 40° pitch. However, an east or west facing array can also have up to 85% optimal performance. The size of the PV system will be tailored to suit your needs.

Do I need planning permission?

In most regions, PV panel systems are viewed as ‘permitted development' items that require no planning authority approval, so long as they are installed within certain guidelines. However, regardless of whether your local authority see these as ’permitted developments' or not, we will deal with the local planning authority on your behalf, obtaining written approval (where applicable) before we commence any works.
